August Winds...of Sea and Love

by

Auguste

I've built a web site out of words
And images of lovely art
The paintings, beautiful women
And the poetry is from my heart

I speak of things we seek in life
Of shattered dreams and hurtful pasts
Of ways to overcome our fears
How long, this passion in us lasts

It's "August Winds...of Sea and Love"
A title that describes me well
It talks of how I've climbed through life
And also speaks of times I fell

But most of all, it speaks of hope
And speaks of strength, of how to fight
Of climbing ladders to the stars
Of baring open hearts to light

It even speaks of life's long path
This wondrous journey we must take
Mistakes I've made along the way
And some I still so often make

It speaks of love as best I can
Respect for women that I feel
Such treasures, they, true works of art
These sentiments are very real

And let us not forget the sea
For haunting whale songs in me live
Tall ships of sail that travel on
The tales are in these poems I give

And if a dreamer, you will find
A part of you within this place
Romance and dreams I feed the mind
A distant shore, a lovely face

"August Winds...of Sea and Love"
Has some of this and more to see
To feed your soul and yes, your heart
All that I am, or hope to be

Hoot Owl and Salooma,

The poem wasn't really intended to promote my web site.  It gets plenty of traffic. I think I wrote it to "explain to myself" what it is that causes me to write.  I've often wondered, and still do, why I feel I must write poetry.  I guess like many of us, poetry to me is a form of therapy.  I find it relaxing and a great release.  Take care, my friends, and thank you

Your poem was very descriptive and beautifully put together to tell that story.  I look forward to reading more.

Excellent Auguste,
this is a wonderful poem. . . and your site is equally beautiful. . .

Being a Virgo, I've always had a soft spot for the month of August, and this is a fine example of why. . .

Superb. . .

Auguste~
What I saw in this is the man behind
the beautiful poetry he writes.

Jenn E,

Thank you.  I love the word "beautifu" when it is about something I've written, for my goal is just that, to speak of beauty.  As for the title, a dear friend is responsible for "August Winds."  I immediately liked it.

Michael

Marge,

I'm glad to know the man behind the words can be seen.   I think that's important to anyone who writes.  As always, I do so appreciate your very nice comments.

Michael
