He fell apart; That's the title the boy wants to write. The man wonders why. Does his sexuality terrify him? Is he constantly afraid of rejection; a wet slip on a dry peel in an empty bed? He wants to be sure; he wants to be what she wants him to be, what he wants to be to live and be. The boy feels desire and undesirable. The man waits, straight ahead. He falls apart; That's the title the boy is waiting for. The man waits, knowing the boy can only make what was first unmade. Please, take my hand, says the boy. I love you, girl; Let's wash away, the man calmly commands. |
