I bow my head and pray
To love again some day
When my heart is healed
And the wounds are sealed

No longer will I cry
Or sit and wonder why
Things turned out as they did
Farewell to the past is bid

The blood freely seeps
Like the tears I weep
Cleansing my heart
Hoping for a new start

The pain will subside
Behind a wall I hide
Safe from all harm
Away from love's charm

The candle will burn
As time's pages turn
Towards what will be
Once I find me

A genuinely fine piece of writing, Jenn.
Let the candle burn, I have some on reserve if it runs low.
Find yourself, and you will find your happiness.
Your emotions are really being penned well lately!  I'm loving these...

Sometimes we do have to pull ourselves away from everything to discover what is best for us before we can find true love.  We get caught up in what we thought was real.  Listen to me!!  I should take my own advice!!
Great poem!!

I have faith you will heal
and the candle will always
burn

Your poem is very touching,
