Winter has its colors, more than you might think
Sunsets, and sunrises, from blue to warmest pink
Clarity of cold air, crispness of snow
Cuddle prospects, before fire's glow
Down comforters, icicles' chill
And hot drink that the cold will still

Spring comes with its scents and budding
Promise of some new life bringing
Beginning warmth and cleansing rains
An ending to the winter's banes
Utrillo-like scenes, street reflections
Holding hands, smiles of perfection

Summer, oft the most glorious of all -
Long days, light clothes, no thought of fall
Mountain hikes, brightest sun, bluest sky
Beaches, salty spray, watching gulls fly-
Sweet sweaty kisses, laughs in the surf
Skin gets so cold - looks like two Smurf

Autumn, its coolness, a unique period
Falling leaves drifting, colors a myriad
Reminding of canyons and deep cascades
Wood fires, wine, and candy apples made
We're curled together, watching flames dance
Mulled cider, soft music, long live romance

Wilfred~
Well, I liked this -

'Summer, oft the most glorious of all -
Long days, light clothes, no thought of fall'

But on first read I thought it said -

Summer, oft the most glorious of all -
Long day, no clothes, light thought of fall

I rather liked that rendition ! LOL !

You're quite good at the imagery.
Enjoyed muchly !

Wil,
I liked the "looks like two smurf", but smurf plural is... smurf. Are they like  sheep? Although come to think of it I always thought one sheep was a shoop.

You write so well about nature, and then there is always romance in your poetry
Very lovely

If you don't like snow - why do you live in New England? You need only travel this far south- (we had zero inches last winter)

Bill--watch out for Marge--she'll get nekked and romp all over your beautiful poem...

seriously, this is a beautiful, heart warming look at the seasons...and I think it should be smurfs...

Martie -

nekked is as nekked does ~G~
that's a whole different poem
yet to be written - and maybe not available in this forum ~WG~
perhaps we should make it a challenge and see who rises to the bait.
(and I'll never try to rhyme surf again ~LOL)
And thanks for the 'beautiful' ~S~

behold no matter what the season...I had to
smile at winter scene..I recall you saying
