Please forgive me, friend, For my indifference. I always think of you, But the storm cloud of circumstance Has overshadowed me; My blue sky has been concealed. I do not intend To tear your heart in two; You've got to know I still care. My once-carefree spirit Has been snatched away By the burdensome tasks of Reality. This alleged indifference Stems from the natural instinct To defend; Don't think I've walked away And forgotten our frequent nights Of depth and unmasking. Don't be under the impression That I can turn away so easily. This straight-faced front Is merely a shield For the heart inside That truly loves you. |

Yes....Yes!!!! This is so well-put that I had to read it several times, my friend! Oh, indifference is so much a part of our lives, but you pointed out that it's just a cover, and what's underneath are real feelings. Wonderful writing...loved it!! Today is a gift.... That is why they call it 'the Present'! |
