As I sit here next to the rippling brook Feeling the water rushing across my foot Letting my mind drift off into space I feel your gentle hand touching my face We sit together in a warm embrace Letting go of the everyday rat race Listening to the sounds of natures love We look up to see a dove We here the music of the woods The birds are singing their mating call The squirrels getting ready for the long winter haul As we look across the rippling brook We see a dear and take a second look Oh if only we could Stay in this place and time And never let material things clutter our mind To preserve and protect And never neglect Mother nature at her best. |

It's funny, I was just talking about the same thing today: "if only we could stay in this place and time and never let material things clutter our mind" It saddens me to see most people not taking time to stare in awe at the most beautiful things in this world, for instance, the amazing sunset we had today, or just the simple beauty of the rain (especially enjoyable if shared with a loved one). Great poem!! |

I never understand why people have to clutter nature up either... Some people just dont appreciate what they have. Snowpants- I love running in the rain or rollerblading in it. SO much fun . Time flies? Say it not so, time stays we go. |

Cuddlez~ To view nature undisturbed is serenity at it's finest hour. A pretty picture indeed. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Lovely memories to hold on to. I absolutely adore nature and all she gives us and you have penned such beauty with your words. Lovely and serene. Thank you for that. |

Thank you so much everyone.I am a nature lover also and have found peace of mind so many times just sitting next to a brook or just under a big oak tree listening to the sounds of the earth.I find so much pleasure in life in the things that don't cost a thing but my time. And is no farther than my front door. But I also find pleasure coming here and reading all these beautifully written poems. |
