A poet named William P. Jackson-Burnett posted this "Icicles" poem recently on another board.
I found it so fantastic, it almost mirrors my "Icicles" poem from last year.  He was kind enough to allow me to post both together!

This one's for you, LgnJgn!

ICICLES
by William P. Jackson-Burnett

Briefest moments of a now conversation
Melting the glacial ice of memories
Held fast in the frozen sweetness
Of time everlasting. The words
Syncopated echoes ringing in
Irregular harmony a tune
Caught in the windsong
Staccato of the mind.
Silently we make
Beautiful music
Together.
Silently
We make
Beautiful
Music
To-
Get-
Her.

Icicles

It gave you pleasure
melting my resistance,
shining in the sparkle
you found in my eyes
a twinkling treasure

Partially hidden from view,
wrapped in glossy paper
you tore away layers,
ribbons untied

Held this gift in your gaze,
touched outer layers,
slipped in skillfully,
heat replaced cold,
closed my eyes
to milky ways

I have often wished upon you
like some far off star
in the wintry sky,
and thought,

Darlin’, if you only knew

Thanks, Denise!  I thought it was quite a coincidence!  He's a marvelous, complex poet!

Corinne~
I love multi-paneled mirrors.
You had to be caught surprised at the reflection.
Awesome resemblance.

I have often wished upon you
like some far off star
in the wintry sky,
and thought,

Darlin’, if you only knew'

Oh, how I like this panel !

yes...indeed...syncopated...
both are awesome writings
and it is a "COOL" coincidence (pun intended) LOL
and perhaps Im a bit biased...
but i like the second one the most

Very "COOL" indeed....yes I believe the reflection of one captures the other quite well.  Loved them both and you may pass that on to William P. Jackson-Burnett.  Great writings the both of them.

Thanks, Marge!  This was like through the looking glass, looking at him, looking at me!
I was surprised, pleasantly so!

Thanks for the so kind words, JM!  I think he's a better poet, though, he digs deeper than I.

Thank you Mark, I shall tell him!

Sometimes the universe creates wonderful duets, and sometimes the universe allows us to see them together. This is one of those times....

Tell you poet friend from me also great work.
and tell that other amazing poet for me too..

these two are so special - I thoroughly enjoyed - thank you
Not too long ago - I wrote an "Icicles" - more in my 'sensuous' vein - but if you're curious: http://www.bianca.com/shack/bookcase/poetry/posts/1999_Dec_28/20476/20476.html

Good morning Corinne,
I must say that this is just lovely. Two poems written apart, but so much together. Well done, Corinne.

Thanks, Park, you are sweet!  Sometimes the universe does create amazing duets...*S*

Wilfred, I read your "Icicles" - loved it, very sensuous, and what better way to spend a Sunday!

Thank you, Bill!
