A person of some talent
Was professor Rudolph Rupp.
He could delve into a subject
And never once look up.

He could handle weighty matters,
He could penetrate the core
Of recondite philosophies,
Of which he recognized a score.

The merest of minutia
He could represent as deep,
And before his second "ahem"
He could put a class to sleep.
