Algorithms breaking through bone from finger to cerebrum the net results limits refined communication. Dulled minds chatter constant crass, litanies seduced from whiskey shakes and television prisons. Somewhere a satellite beams thoughts into our brains, sedation plastic coma, wear your smile citizen, routine upon routine broken record in loop. sanitised and child safe. Converse in a giant maze, for us to navigate, which one of us rats will get the cheese? life's reward full contentment bottled ready to swallow whatever we are fed. You know the last one who raised hell was nailed to a tree, now he transmits through a populous of stigmata. Filter through education, censored and deconstructed, no truth here in a mirage of sincere lies. Got a dictionary at my side but there are words the mind fails to recognise, cursed to progress then regress in a mind of snakes and ladders I always return to the start destroy words celebrate silence. ============================ "In the dark colony of night, when I consider man's magnificent capacity for malice, madness, folly, envy, rage, and destructiveness, and I wonder whether we shall not end up as breakfast for newts and polyps, I seem to hear the muffled cries of all the words in all the books with covers closed". Leo Rosten "Words mask the sincerity found in silence. Don't mistake my persistence for hesitance". Juliet Pang This is the hour when the mysteries emerge A strangeness so hard to reflect A moment so moving goes straight to your heart" JOy divison |

So will you be the one to go out and be heard in the truth and ignore the plotted conspiracies by man to ignore what we all know to be true inwardly though we are too afraid to speak out on it? One should wonder just where we will let ourselves be led by the others who are more lost than ourselves or just the ones that try to lose us by burying us in their world of wisdom. Excellent read Brian.....really enjoyed this one. |

Brain I loved this! Lots of food for thought... This was my particular favorite, as it spoke volumes to me..."to swallow whatever we are fed. You know the last one who raised hell was nailed to a tree," |

Mark, refering to a book which part of the poem is based on George Orwell 1984 a revolution would be crushed.. we have become trapped, ok so the trap may not not be as bad as in 1984 but all the same we are powerless. The idea of destroying words in order to stamp out a revolution kind of inspired the poem as well as my dose of writer's block at the moment. So no I will not step forward, I will moan like a good citizen but as someone might have said "don't throw stones if you are not prepared to get shot." Thank you for your thoughts and comments. shadow of poetry ,thanks ![]() Martie, sorry.. I do that sometimes..thinking it is not nice LOL thanks for your wonderful reply. Balladeer, thank you and no greater compliment could I expect thank you, your response means so much to me. MA Miller, and I will say THANKS, sincere thanks. ![]() nando, thanks... Dawn, the deep tag has stuck LOL aw well I have been called worse. THank you and come back to my comfort zone right now because you forgot to close the door on the way out. Thank you... hugs... ![]() The softest thing in the world Will overcome the hardest.Non-being can enter where there is no space". Taoist saying |
