(Inspired by Mike's response to 'Blink')

The first time we met
I remember it well
I saw the chip
On your shoulder dwell

Your arms were folded
Saying "I know your kind"
For me to miss it
I'd have to be blind

I knew better to speak
So I turned to a friend
Sitting close by you
But we had a blend

With friend chatted idly
For over an hour
No 'hits' and no 'misses'
I didn't cower

In the corner of eye
I saw you relax
Regrouping your thoughts
Reassemble your facts

Your arms came unfolded
A smile crossed your face
You recrossed your legs
My way with grace

When Mary joined us
She asked if we'd met
She said, "Bill meet Joan"
She works at the vet

I offered my hand
That's when we started "we"
Body language was gone
As we talked oh so free

Now the language I look for
And it happens quite often
Comes from wicked ideas
When I see your eyes soften

Ah, yes, those softening eyes can say so much! Fine writing, Wilfred....

u've got it down Wilfred, sounds like you know this personality, I happen to be one of those women, takes awhile for me to respond with a smile, kind of stand off-ish at times not intentionally, but when I get to know you I try to be more friendly.I know men can be this way too.

Sometimes nonverbal communication says sooooo much more than words - I like this one, Will...

This poem is so true...body language is
a whole other form of communication...one that we don't have here, but we try.

'Deer-

My objective with this poem - was not to record a real incident but to have some fun with 'body language' - but they do tell more than we sometimes realize. Educated BL readers can detect lying among other things. thanks

Masked Intruder-

I think 'giggling' is  contageous - now you've got me doing it - thanks a lot.

Rosebud-

You've spoken for most of us I'm sure - it was fun to write - thanks

Vicky-

Thank you

Butterflies-

Don't mean to disappoint - but this was fun fiction  - but if it had happened - yes - I'd treasure that chip

Nan -

By now I'm sure you must know -I love my new 'home' in this forum - and that is precisely because of the wonderful readers like you who offer such nice replies

Martie-

It appears that reading my little piece evoked a whole gamut of feelings in you ~G~ - thanks for your colorful reply
