With dandelion suns
I crowned you my king
the great oaks as our witnesses
in this oasis of spring
this crown of suns
I place upon your head
will not stay golden forever
Soon it turns to snowy clouds
you pull apart with thick fingers
and I can only watch them
tumble to the ground
as you stand cursing
the golden beauty
our field now lacks

Castala - What a great entry piece - How true it can be that our finest intentions are skimmed over when the recipient fails to see the crown for the cost.

As for being new in the Forums - You can trust all the women in here - they are wonderful people.  Do not trust any of the men except for me!  All the others are scalawags and hopeless flirts *eyebrows wigglin'*.  Whereas, I am a true gentleman and can be entrusted with your virtue and all your secret fantasies (which I will share with only a few trusted friends *veg*).  Again, welcome to our Forum.  I hope we will be blessed with more of your wonderful poetry.

Welcome to the forum! This is truly amazing. You know, some months ago I posted a poem entitled "Snow Clouds" talked about oak trees, a field, and used a royal conceit in the piece referring to crowns.
It seems that great minds think alike.

I look forward to reading more from you.< !signature-->

*castala,
welcome to passions, we need more people like you to keep that rascally Long John Ag in his place, take it from me tell him nothing that you don't want used against you later.

Lovely poem, it had a great flow to it.

Be well

Welcome to Passions - It is indeed a wonderful place... You've written a wonderful poem as an entree, and I'm looking forward to reading more of your work...

Of course, you must understand that we have one or two "gentlemen" poets here who just seem to always be competing with each other, ya know???

Check your email for a special greeting..

Cassie (may I call you "Cassie"?) - As you can read here, there are many supportive people in the Forums who would love to read more of your poetry.  I am so thrilled you posted this poem, as it has allowed me to see who my true trusted friends really are!  Now I can revise my email mailing list (appropriately titled, "Fantasies and Dirt I Have Gleaned From Unsuspecting New Poets") and they can just weasel secrets on their own!  What?  You?  Of COURSE your secrets are safe with me.  My mailing list only talks about OTHER new poets *nervous laugh*.
