T'was late July, and Santa Claus, felt time was ripe, from work to pause. He'd take a rest, put up his feet, 'cause he was tired, St. Nick was beat. He summoned elves, and reindeer too, Said listen close, Here's what we'll do. The next two weeks, We'll all take off, This hot red suit, I'm gonna doff. With Mrs. Claus, my north pole sweetie, I'll take a cruise, sail to Tahiti. So for two weeks, you're on vacation, Elves and reindeer, jumped in elation. What will we do? Where will we go? Will be some place, that has no snow! Elves and reindeer, thought and thought, then in a flurry, their tickets bought. Some went to Rome, Some to Bahama, Rudolph left, to see his mama. The last to leave, Wee elf so small, now what would be, his port of call? Wee elf he flew, to Hollywood, to see a star, or two he would. Well, two weeks passed, vacation's done, elves and reindeer, they all had fun. But now was time, to get to work, vacation's over, let elves not shirk. But then a cry, Where is wee elf? yelled Santa Claus, beside himself. Where can elf be? Small elf so wee, perhaps he's hiding? Please look and see. But then a knock. on toy shop's door, a telegram, t'was Santa for. Dear Santa Claus, commenced the wire, From your employ, I now retire. I found new work, in Hollywood, in the movies, I knew I could. The wire ended, Here's to your health, Good luck Santa, signed, Rambo Elf. |
