(I posted this a month ago - in 'Adult' [8/9/00] - but since in my not so humble opinion - it could 'pass' here - and 'kissing you softly' succeeded
I wanted to see if those who like the latter would like the former)

Each moment has its value
Be it preamble, or afterglow
Some focus on the coup de grace
It's the glow for me I know

Not to shorten any one
For I too love them all
There's no dance its equal
That makes me feel ten feet tall

Yet in the glow that follows
There's a magic unsurpassed
After the pant's subsiding
When breathing's no longer fast

That's the period that I treasure
When we're snuggled side by side
And I start in memorizing
And my fingers once more can glide

I memorize with my eyes true
But also with gentlest touch
Each hollow and soft indentation
The roundness' I love so much

The downy smoothness of each cheek
The nose bridge dividing the eyes
The soft brushes of your eyelids
Caressing fingers, creating sighs

A feather's touch grazing shell ears
Feeling pulse quicken below your ear
You may not sleep 'fore I finish
Sleep needed soon or we'll be drear

Yet like Ali Baba in cave of thieves
How I feel gazing at your treasure
Must count every jewel, feel every silk
Each bolt examined and measured

Each toe gets its value instep and arch
Calves get tongue measures too
Neglecting no knee, thighs caressed by cheeks
Sometimes thighs clamp me like glue

Lest one think I am silent doing this
They're wrong as we share conversation
But vocal chords fail when in treasures deep
Guttural sounds known in each nation

Bill--that kind of afterglow sounds a little like foreplay...lovely love scene you paint.

Whisper- Memories are made of this eh? - sounds like the title of a song - I'm  old enough to remember   - afterplay - afterglow - or simply memories - My kind or memorization - ~S~ thank you

Whenever I fell eroticky
In a sexual sort of way
I turn to Wilfred’s poetry
To kind of make my day

He says it is the aftermath
Martie says that it’s foreplay
Before or after, I only know
It is well the “play of the day”

One more for a hat trick, sir
