Options versus time

Sitting there with
sitting legs crossed
upon my high chair
of deep thought --
of timeless, un-clocked
circumstances of inertia.
I'd got myself to ponder.
I'd set myself to wonder.

Shrieks all around
howling as if
jealousy afflicted
deeply pained in
thought-caused guilt
crystallising
the vanity of reason.
Why? What? Who? Wherefrom?

An alarm sounding bell
raised my waking up eyelid
and with arising eye brows
I muttered a wakeup call to
a million harsh ones,
"give me a few more moments
will you? can you?"
I'd just started to think!

Time for coffee,
and a sly stilted look
at the forlorn agenda
that read like
the soup of the day
on a menu full perhaps
of eating options
'bananas and milk shake?'

Misplaced, vagrant options
and then I had a stop watch
threatening to stop -
unless I killed my inertia
and jumpstarted in making
an atrocious selection --
'how much sugar? and milk?'
were the questions raised.

Options, millenium-full
WAP enabled, internet savvy
exotically ancient, yet modern
and infinitely possessed.
Time, being zeroed, even lesser
than there was ever was -
ozone-like depletion - left with
as little as nothingness itself!

What choices do I make?
When do I make them?
Where went the time?
Who took it away?
More shrieks, more cat calls
my high chair is now left
aloofed, separated from my self
in its own belonging corner of thought.

---

We have options, but do we have time to make them, and that too correctly?

Sudhir, I am leving this comment by way of a internet thingy
that is not so good so I can't cut or paste text and am
too lazy to retype the piecesof text that I enjoyed the
most, also forgive me if my heart is not in the reply
i am bit wiped out and homesick but need a distraction
and your poetry provided the perfect distraction.  Wonderfully
written verse of your usual briliant poetic style.
take care my friend.

butterflies~, Oh, my friend... thank you for coming by... yep, rolling the dice is one solution, and sometimes flipping a coin also helps... only difficulty would be to recognise the choices...

brian, I can never thank you enough for coming in in the midst of your vacation, and responding ...

My regards,
sudhir

Always thought provoking,
Always well written
But I do like my coffe before making any rash decisions. I live moment to moment, since what you so cleverly describe here is no longer my lifestyle, but I remember it well.

Sudhir, Sudhir beloved one,
You have way too much time on your hands if you can craft this beautiful poem and make it look so natural, so incidental so thought provoking.

Excellent thoughts by you in this one and now of course my mind is reeling.  I for one try not to make any decisions until my "2" POTS of coffee in the morning.lol...the only decision I make is WHICH cup to use today.  I really like it when you reflect like this and it shows your true talent so well.

Sudhir, thank you for posting this as a separate topic... my apologies for not getting here sooner to respond.... just haven't had enough time to do everything i want, these days... hehe... seems to be slipping past.. it's hard to fit everything in.

You have some very focused excellent lines in here. Among my favorites--

"Time, being zeroed, even lesser
than there was ever was -
ozone-like depletion - left with
as little as nothingness itself!"

this is a well crafted piece and you offer a lot of insight. well done!

~ all you can really ever expect out of life is a good apology and some decent poetry ~
