This title - this poem will not attract the same readers a 'catchier' one might- but the word 'word' lacks the draw a more romantic one would. So be it . - This is not the final draft - but I must 'commit' to it so it falls beneath your eyes now - that you may compare it with the final to come. Word Fall When I think of being bathed and cleansed Of cares and troubles, I dream of pools Waterfalls or even waves beating But I've found a new washing release Your poetry I dive into its crystal depths Let its phrases purge my quandaries Let its metaphors cascading Bounce off my mind and seep through skin Or stand on its shores with toes in sand As breakers of it crash upon my heart Warmed with similes that only you Could devise to take away my blue Without intent You may write to pose a question Or for venting, perplexed yourself Nonetheless your words are cleansing With no chill or thought evading I see me standing 'neath their fall Reveling in their pristine beauty Immersion there becomes a duty To take my turn with friends lined up Drink from your cup It is no wonder then that I Want to plumb the source of all this Elixir, acme's paragon, Wrap you round me, take you in heart Make you my own with words so binding Fashion phrases from brain's own pool To tie you to me with love's own knot Careful not to root you to a spot But give wings Find the magic glue of clauses Fixing feathers to stand the sun That we might soar among the clouds And fly with me will make you proud So entranced with you am I I just want to be your guy That later ages and its sages Like us to Browning's bye and bye |

Bill, I believe "Word Fall" is a perfectly lovely title for the experience you have described in this wonderful composition. To be moved, smitten even, by the spirit of another's wondrous words...what a pleasure! ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

I agree...the title compliments the poem, which is quite a task being the excellent poem that it is |

My titles leave alot to be desired...my weakest point if I had to pick JUST one But your title fits this beautiful weave with perfection....not sure what you are "working on" I'm not sure how you could make this any better..we stand under the same word fall my friend and drink from the same beauiful pools...thank you for sharing this exquisite piece of work and I will be looking forward to see what you do with it~ |

Wilfred~ 'Word Fall Perfection personified as the title opens the door to an exquisite offering. Your talent is quite in bloom. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |
