** I finally got all excited about the book and me being apart of it and decided the poem that had been submited was not what I wanted to be the only sample of my poetry and now it's too late to submit. (pout) Oh well. I'm gonna repost this one anyways just because I feel like it. ** -- A Little Kiss of Passion -- (4-12-2000) Is your kiss authentic Do I have the only one Or is it just an action Shared with others just for fun A kiss isn't a reservation Made only with your lips You can do it holding hands Just by tightening your grip I can kiss you with my eyes Just by staring deep I can kiss you with my words And sweep you off your feet I can kiss you without motion With only my warm embrace I can kiss you with the soft caress Of my fingers on your face You see a kiss should show affection And I do prefer your lips But they're only part of the fraction It's the emotions that I miss Some kisses are simply gestures A tradition developed over time Some are just reminders That I'm yours and your mine A kiss can be an action Some are created in lust But I want a kiss of passion And it requires that you trust A kiss with no emotions It's almost like a sin Like poison on a rose Or the betrayal of a friend Just be sure that when we kiss It's something that you feel If it's just an action Then it wasn't very real --Dave "Don't let your character get camoflaged with your environment. Find who you are and let it stay in its true colors." --Rachel Joy Scott |

Hi Dave, I love the way you've expressed such truth! A kiss can happen in many ways, and with trust, is definitely "authentic"...wonderful poem! ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Thanks for the compliment Claire. This one has become one of my favorites... I've got a few ideas for new poems... just can't seem to piece them together... my muse has been starved I think. --Dave< !signature--> "Don't let your character get camoflaged with your environment. Thinking about a woman I have kissed recently...who's name I will not mention...but she kisses with her whole body...and she caresses me and wants to look right into my eyes and talk to me and she really kisses back with everythings she's got...sensuality at its finest...I love to kiss her...drives me crazy...James |

Dave -- I must confess, I'd not read any of your work before. Then, you replied so nicely to some of mine that I did a search for ya and Wow! What an awesome piece this is. You've captured all the mystery and sensuality of what a kiss should be. Loved it and look forward to more! --You can either take me as I am...or you can watch me as I go.-- |

Well thank you kindly Angel. Although I do hope you did a search on more than this forum. I've got some other good ones in other forums. (Not many, but a few) Although a good shortcut would be to click on that little home page icon up there and check out my homepage. It'se really just a collection of my poems. Thanks for the compliment. Hope I can get back into the swing of things and write something worth reading soon. =) Love your work. I wear my heart on my sleeve to show the emotions that I can't express with words. --Dave |
