Between a laugh and a tear...

I, The Destroyer

I, the destroyer
The corrupter of dreams
Poisoner of innocent minds
Stealing away the future
Will their souls survive?

I, the destroyer
The purveyor of grief
The bringer of tears
Death and destruction reign
Why must they cry?

I, the destroyer
The taker of souls
Consumer of the light
Total possession, total control
Body, mind, and soul

I, the destroyer
The slayer of hope
The taker of all things good
Their lives forever tainted
From the sins of the Father

The mind seems to race, trying to attribute a concrete scenario to the written word.  There are so many dark emotions held in this poem, but yet almost an innocent (?) ambevolance.  Hmm... perhaps an over complication on my part.  But it is excellent writing and made me stop to think.
Intrigued... glad I stopped to read.

Great writing!
Very creative on the dark side but I hope
it doesn't reflect on anything in your life and since
the destroyer has killed all hope I'll just leave it
with very great creative writing.

Eagle One,
this is a dark, dark poem. It's so simply put but with complexity layered on.

Butterfly..My dear friend, yes I do know, and I do so appreciate your kind words, and the Angel WIng Hugs. To have a Butterfly kiss thrown in as well...wow!   Your response warms my heaart, take care!

Trew...Yes there is a lot of emotion in this one. I'm glad that it made you think too, I think poetry should make you do that at times.

Insect.....I'm not sure it desrves such priase, but I thank you. All my work reflects on my feelings in some way and yes so does this one, such is life!

Kethry.....Yes there are many complex emotions tied up in this one.

Mark.....Always from the heart and soul, it's the only way I can write.

Eagle, in poetry there is only creation it is in life and in fear that we destroy. Excellent poem my friend. Hope that you discover that you also create powerful words

Eagle One, there lurks not so deeply within these words a very frightening tale, and I'm sorry to know of it, but I must tell you that you've developed a fine composition and your reader benefits greatly from the enlightenment.
