Australia, land of contrast Of city and of dust Of spectacular, scenes gone past Rocks that bleed in sunset's rust A land of paradoxes Difficult to explain A land not shut in boxes A land of wild terrain A land not tamed by man But sometimes held in sway A land of bounteous beauty and an island, isolated, far away in this harsh surrounding, wonder still remains travellers caught up in the lure of drought and flooding plains. |

Keth, this is really beautiful. I have always had a strong curiosity and love for Austrailia for some reason. I've studied the country, the foliage, the wild life and the history and it is an amazing place. My friend Isis has sent me many photos and articles of the country and I have met many good people from there, usch as Isis, Linda and Severn, before she moved to New Zealand Your poem is very special. (I've studied sugar gliders, too, but never had any) |
