Her face is like an angel’s Peaceful and innocent Beautiful eyes full of life Temporarily still Tussled round her head Is the hair that I love A hand resting on her chin As dreams race through her head I often wonder as I sit here If she knows how much she means to me My world starts and ends in her I just wish she could understand At times I am unbearable And truly test her love With jealousy and obsession I slowly push her away Maybe I should let her go To test the love so strong See if it is true and real Or just a common need For now I will enjoy The time that we share And cherish every moment Till the day we say goodbye Love one another-let God do the worrying, Rodney |

Don't let her go!!!! The real tests of love happen when you are still together!! This is a great poem and I really enjoyed reading it.....hope to see more from you! Today is a gift.... That is why they call it 'the Present'! |

thank you sunny...not really "letting her go" in the classic sense...just letting her spread her wings and discover and experience new things...and it scares me...but I love her so much that I am willing to make a sacrifice to make her happy...she is my life Love one another-let God do the worrying, Rodney |

Rodney, this is so sensitive and sweet. Let her fly, but be prepared to catch her is she falls, and bring her back safely into the nest at the end of the day. Be well Kethry "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- |

Rodney~ The more one experiences ... the more they bring to a relationship. True love is confident, not fraught 'With jealousy and obsession.' I'd have to say that no one 'lets' me fly ... I soar on unfettered wings, knowing the way home, bringing treasures of discovery to share. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

thanks for the comments kethry and marge...it is hard to let her "go"...but after 12 years of marriage and never really experiencing life...she is frustrated feeling trapped and controlled...and my love for her is so strong that I hurt for her and am willing to make the sacrifice for the end payoff...I doubted that the love was reciprocated until here recently and now that I am sure of it, I can let her "fly"...I hate to use words like "let" and "allow" but there are no better adjectives that immediately come to mind to describe that I am here to offer encouragement, support and, when needed, advice...all I can do is stress to her that it is HER destiny, her decision, I am just here to love her, hold her hand when needed, and catch her should she fall...love is so hard to describe...which is good or us "poets" would be out of "work" lol...but the feeling is so incredible and deep when you KNOW it...and right now I DO...it is so liberating...like falling in love with her all over again, because she is a different woman now than she was 13 years ago, but I love her the same, if not more...again thanks for the words of encouragement!!! What a beautiful poem... "...I realise to hold you I must open up my hands and watch you Spread your wings and prepare to fly..." "...If you will return to me, we truly were meant to be..." Butterfly/Mariah Carrey Just thought of this song as I read your poem... Lovely ![]() |
