Cradled Sweet
~*Marge Tindal*~

Cradled sweet, this lullabye
caught within a mother's sigh
Holding on to memories
singing still the melodies

Wrapped in comfort of a song
rocking yet the whole day long
Keeping still the nestled rest
of infant held in tenderness

When night affords a dream or two
she counts the sheep of holding you
Among the treasures of her soul
held long after you have yet grown old

Do you not hear within her hum
the lullabye of mother, ever sung ?

Hi Marge...
Lovely read, beautiful flow, and as smooth as a baby's bottom!!

Today is a gift....
That is why they call it
'the Present'!

Mike~
Thank you for the read.

Sunny1~
Thanks also to you.

*This one tugged at at my heartstrings
as I visited with some elderly ladies this
morning at a local nursing home.

They still sing the lullabies ...
even though their 'babies' don't come to visit them.

We had a 'Share-A-Pet-Hug' day and they held
and rocked and sang to my Toy Pomeranian
like she was their baby.
That was joyful for them ... and for her.

Will you sing me to sleep tonight?  This is so sweet. I wish I could remember those days of being sung to but I think they were spent on the range branding cattle.  Their bellows were MY lullaby.      ...

Marge, your poem makes me wish I had someone to sing me to sleep--and Mark's comment makes me wish for a cow!

Sudhir~
Thank you, my friend ...
for finding just the right words.

Dani~
Hugs!
This one was emotionally difficult to pen
as I reflected on the tears of those who
sing the lullabies of their hearts
to those no longer caring to hear them.

Thank you for finding it in the middle of your restless night.
