I am a man
Of flesh and blood
That’s how I once was made;
And deep within a living heart
With feelings oh so pure.

But through the years
With fear and pain
The shields rose one by one;
Until one day there was no doubt
The armour could endure.

I clinked along
I made the moves
I seemed a happy chap;
But no one saw there was no life
That truly could be seen.

I .. clinked .. along ..
I .. made .. the .. moves ..
And .. then .. you .. came .. along;
You saw a living creature there
Inside this strange machine.

You took one look
And realized
The pow’r that lay inside;
You guided me and showed me how
To throw the bonds aside.

I am a living creature now
With all that that entails,

I laugh I cry I feel such joy
I show it with no shame,

Through dance and song
Through mirth and tears
I will express my thoughts,

I might have been but am no more
A mere mechanical man!

Excellent write  here   I too used to require oiling or such but as you have shown.....a little love will polish the tarnish away and our hearts and souls will gleam forever.  Loved this alot.
