For Life is what those dying pray,
What firemen risk their own to save,
That which doctors strive to aid
And brand new parents celebrate.

For Life is what the elderly long,
Scientists wish they could prolong,
Patriots give for freedom’s sake,
Geneticists slave to recreate.

For Life is what all rescuers search;
A gift God gave us all on earth.
So priceless, precious, and I hope you see
Its the kind of friend you have in me.
