Silence : Listen can you hear
The Silence of the rain,
on my face it glisens
and never seems to stop.

Silence : of the thunder'
even though it rumbles
way above the clouds.

Silence : flashes of lightning
though it maybe frightening
right before my eyes.

Silence : winds in action
trees swaying to and fro.
branches falling on the ground.

Silence : calm right before the storm.
Listen.

Strange that I read this now. I have had a hard day.....emotionally draining and here in Canada it is raining and thundering. My eyes were so sore I went outside in my back yard and just stood there, feeling, listening to it all. And all of it brought me the silence that I needed. This was a beautiful write. So true.

thx Jenn I thought of it because it's been thundering here in North Carolina which it' likes to do often, but I though how strange that there's usually such a calmness and tranquility before a storm. Yet such a gentleness that also makes you feel at peace.

Lovely - and thoughtful - I read it again and again
(on a lighter note: I once played a blank tape at full volume and drove a mime nuts ~G~)

I love all the soothing words I've read today.  This is another great one.  Isn't strange how the thunder, lightening and rain, sometimes so fierce, can be so very soothing.  Love it.

thx Juliet, the rain somehow gives me too such a calm relaxed feeling. Afterwards the skies are brighter and everything is once again renewed with new life and colors.
