The cards are on the table
The losers heart is on the line
Should she gamble on this drifter?
And the look there in his eyes?
If she plays it safe and folds
Will she miss that one great chance?
Should she take anothere card?
Should she place another bet?
Luck is a lady, but a cruel one she can be.
She whispers...take the chance
There are never any guarantees
Place your heart here on the table
Ante up all that you are
Love is a pot worth winning
Take a chance there on that star.

Reading these challanges has been a lot of fun.  This is really good! I like... "Luck is a lady, but a cruel one she can be. She whispers...take the chance There are never any guarantees"  so true, so true, so true!!!

Paula this is fantastic. Love is one big gamble I guess, but oh when you win, how delightful.

Paula
I echo what Ladysixstring stated.  Those were my favorite lines also.
You've met this challenge very well indeed.
Excellent poem.
