My Lady

by

Michael Auguste

A poet she is with tender words
But so much more, this gentle one
She is one of my dearest friends
She lights my days, much like the sun

And flowing soft hair clothes her form
Her voice, melodic, to the ears
A maiden in the words she writes
She sometimes shares both love and fears

A troubled life she's known, at best
And yet, she finds a way to cope
Her sleep produces little rest
But even so, in her there's hope

I've known her for just seven months
Yet a bond so strong we both share
A trust we know that cannot break
And feelings that we treat with care

Personal things you will not hear
Her words are gifts, so like she is
They're safely kept from eyes that pry
That bring my life such happiness

Her name I'll also keep from you
Her privacy, important here
I wish you had a friend like her
To me her friendship is very dear

My friend, I thank you, you're so sweet
I wish you all the best in life
A poet, a mother and a friend
And to your husband, a good wife

I'll be here if you've tears to weep
Or just a smile, your heart to warm
And give you strength if you should need
My Lady, whose hair clothes her form

Michael~
I believe you are right ...
I can imagine that she doesn't even realize
your words are about her ...
but then again ...
that's the way with friends.

Marge,

I'm always honest with my friends, so this one so dear knows just how much her frienship means to me.  She's a tower of inspiration, but more than that, she is also honest in every respect with me.

Take care,

Michael
