When Sadness Overtakes

Inside of me is always hope
A touch of wonder, for the new
But holding on to what is known
Can sometimes be my own undo.

I thought I could, I know I can
But why the doubts now, on the rise?
Letting go, when sadness comes,
The tears begin to flow from eyes.

Mourning am I, what has been
Memories once held so near.
What do you do with all these framed?
How do I learn to lose what's dear?

Sighing now, with emptiness
Home, full with "things" I've treasured so.
Now will pack them all away
Into the boxes, they must go.

To never see two thirds my life
To wash away the tear stained lies.
When sadness overtakes me, now
I lay awake, inside me cries.

I am trying to do it with grace and no bitterness but as days  go on and things continue, it gets harder and harder

MMoonchild, I think I found the one, you were talking about.let me know.
We can both do this, it will be hard I know
my husband and I go back To our Childhood,
We were 11 when we met, got married at 17.
One more regret to add to the list.

Love and Light

Maureen~

And with the mourning tears comes the diluting of the sorrow.

Keep the tender memories in the boxes -
and set the bitterness at the curb for pickup.

I feel your feelings, hon ...
you're gonna be okay !
Love ya'

Mo - This says so much - on the surface, splitting up seems to be a division of two people, but its really a division of one life - and the pain cuts so very deeply.  I hope you find peace.

You have said it well...a sad and lonely time when the objects of our love and affection now represent rejection and loneliness...James

Maureen~~How I relate to this....my favorite part....I was feeling htis way a few months ago....lost..packing my life.....

Sighing now, with emptiness
Home, full with "things" I've treasured so.
Now will pack them all away
Into the boxes, they must go.

To never see two thirds my life
To wash away the tear stained lies.
When sadness overtakes me, now
I lay awake, inside me cries.

great work......

Julie :)

Maureen, so touching, so totally real, life as they say goes on. Still it seems like an uphill struggle, I know, my heart goes out to you. You will get through this I know, and until you can look at a new day without the old day clouding your sight, you have my thoughts with you. Remember when you hit  the bottom the only way is up. Warm hugs
