I want to be the one who holds your heart again It was me at the start, can it be at the end? I held it close, gave it warmth and love Heard it sing sweeter than the morning's dove You took your heart away, held it at arm's length How you did I don't know, how'd you find the strength? How do you share it with no one to give it to? Or have you given it now to someone new? Light of my life, without your heart I'm alone Since being with you, see how my heart has grown? And now, when we can finally be together You take your heart away, the ties you now sever Come back to me gentle bird once more Let our hearts again walk along that shore There's one thing that I ask before your heart grows dim Please. . . don't give it to. . . -------------------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |
