New Rose dew filled petals sing with morning kisses of love as new rose blossoms Raccoon radiant eyes dance upon moonlit quivers gold raccoon is prowling Waterfall cascading waters of thunderous roar flowing spiraling in mass Dolphins dancing fins of grey breaching depths of ocean respite in dolphin delight Butterfly kisses butterfly kisses upon nectar given grace dances wildly on Mark Bohannan If there is a certain one that just stands out to you or if one just grabs you, please let me know. It will help me to learn and to grow. Thanks much. [This message has been edited by Mark Bohannan (edited 08-21-2000).] |

Mark, I love all of these. But if you look at the original haikus on the web, they usually have a break or twist, usually at the beginning of the third line, and "Racoon" does exactly that. Maybe I'm wrong on this, but I think thats what they say about Japanese Haiku. But there are many forms,These are all very lovely indeed :iz |

Mark loved your Haiku's but I'm cross that you beat me to kitten reply to Long John. I would have written kitten for your birth ferocious, bundle of fur will leak on carpet Be well Kethry "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- |

Hey Mark... that's like eat a pizza and then buy the whole pizza factory ... LOL ... Haiku has really got to you... and you have got to Haiku as well... Given a choice, you very well know I will choose the waterfall... but give me another and I will choose them all... before you find out they will be gone... all so wonderfully done... ![]() regards, sudhir |

Lovely work! Think, my fave here is the Racoon one because I was taught the traditional Haiku, where there is a surprise in the last line. Corinne |
