EventideAs journey we to sun's recline and grow we nigh to ends of time your words, cool balm to aches astray as whipoorwill at end of day And tragic paths that cannot ken toward each other's last amen might still reside in sharing wood and meet in meadows understood As racing brooks trail mountainside with heart's intent they cannot hide for it is to the river's flow they stream together down below To crash at last into the sea in torrents tossed, we two will be forever more to flow as one our ocean's own 'neath setting sun |

Claire, I have to agree with Sy on this one. . . your words flow out of your pen like the waves crashing on the shoreline of a secluded lake, waiting to be found by lucky travelers. . . Simply beautiful. . . ------------------------------------------------------ That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

On a mountain far away, I found myself at end of day, A rushing stream in headlong rush, To yon valley, green and lush. I was fortunate enough to spend the weekend in the mountains, and then to return to this beautiful poetry, 'tis a wonderful day. |

Brian, thank you. This piece actually happened in about five minutes, and was inspired by a beautiful, moving poem that a special friend sent to me. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Claire, This is beautiful. Such wonderful water images. Your "friend" seems to have really inspired you, whoever "he" is... LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

Lone Wolf, yes, my friend "and" his poem(s) are so very inspiring to me, always. Thank you for your kind response. Jwesley, you read this three times? What a compliment! Thanks for reading (all three times) and for kindly letting me know. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

I love the whole theme of this poem, and the way you carried it through from beginning to end. And of course, your exquisite wording makes it a beautiful poem'Liz |
