"If and when Pen and quill
have come and gone mixed with passions ink
and gone is here to taunt makes the poets swill
in which we all drink"

then I drink of it tonight
not swill but draught delight
and fathom mixed bouquet of gold
stirred with luna’s golden light

As cherubs dance across the pool
in rainbows sky splashed view
I drink a nectar made from
sweetest love each drop like dew

The crickets hum in rhythm
to the closing of the day
and I open up my honeyed coat
to you my love this way

I drain the heat of afternoon
and touch it to the ground
transplant the blooming roses fall
caress its satin gown

to gather up and empty out
each day does life imbibe
that curling in your lap so warm
is poetry divine

to breathe out all the fragile hairs
and brush them ‘til they glow
with celestial spark and angel dust
then braid them in a row

Oh ‘tis harsh to think of so much gone
when so much here is pulsing
and dreams lay wait on cotton sheets
to capture time’s composing

so delicate the fiber
of the minutes fragile skin
that to let one pass unnoticed
is the most tremendous sin

So I drink tonight of Passion
stirred with luna’s golden light
and I whisper sweet my poet’s breath
into the waning light.

After taking in your words, it's so hard to find words to tell you how I feel about this poem. Every line and verse is extraordinary. You are the best, and I agree with Mark, a standing ovation from all the poets at passions. You are a writer of highest caliber and should certainly be published. This poem is but one mark of your excellence in writing. I am proud to be a friend of such a talented poet

Of all of your poems I've read so far
(and that's not all but quite a few)
I'll take a copy of this one
sprinkled with stardust dew

I'll store it in my treasure box
held with moonbean ties so blue
so when ever my heart needs lifting
I'll reread and think of you

This bit of doggeral won't match
your poetry so fine
but I still hope you'll see it as
testement your's is divine
