Ruth's hilarious (though not necessarily off-the-mark) set of Rules for Writerers, states # 6 as: "Also, always avoid annoying alliteration. The challenge then, is to write a poem -or- prose piece which uses alliteration, yet isn't annoying. ---------- Please prepare pertinent prose and poetry pieces then post per Passions prestated parameters. ---------- The American Heritage Dictionary defintion: Alliteration - The repetition of the same consonant sounds or of different vowel sounds at the beginning of words or in stressed syllables. ---------- Have fun, and please post them as a new topic, unless you don't wish it to be up for discussion, then you can post it in this thread! |
