Just yesterday, I was a young child So innocent and helpless Unaware about the ways of the world So naive and carefree What would the masses make of me? Having to grow up in a world so cold Trying to avoid obstacles That would alter my straight path Am I even headed in the right direction? How will I know which road to take? Having difficulty finding myself Sometimes I wish I could escape Maturity is becoming more of me Physically I possess the physique of a woman Exposing more curves than a back road Mentally I have developed Into an intelligent individual Evading troubles by using good judgement A true survivor of my regiment Just yesterday, I was a young child Today I am a woman Taking charge of my life Raising my family right Being a mother,sister Aunt and niece To those who are less fortunate And have no guidance I promise to lead those under me In the right direction for an eternity |

I must say your over-night transformation was a good one which inspired a good poem. We must all strive to find our direction and it looks like your on the right path. good luck. |

Thank You Preach, sometimes it is difficult to stay on the right path when there are so many distratctions around you, I have learned to stay focused so that no one can distract me, and I try the youth headed in the right direction for they only know if we tell them. I feel deeply about this poem because there are many children that lack direction and it isn't even their own fault. Parents, Adults, Elders need to communicate with the youth |
