H2S moment. Meadowmuse knows what I'm talkin' about!  Mike -aspersperation- I got into this fight with a girl I respected; otherwise the fight never would have occurred. We were arguing over whether poetry could be poetry without the line breaks and the rhymes; just words. (A boring discussion, but keep in mind, these were boring times) So just to spite her, I wrote one up; it crashed like a windowscreen improperly aligned. She said, you went to all this trouble and failed just for me? How cute! (I guess that means you can only succeed when you forget what you wanted to prove) |

And in case anyone's wondering, when I refer to Meadowmuse, I mean she knows what h2s means; not that we had the discussion below, which is, in fact, completely fictional. Mike |

Mike, I didn't even SEE this one until today...but now that I have, yes, I can attest to the fact that I am quite familiar with these H2S moments, sometimes much to my chagrin (in the case of my own experience, that is) but then, this is something of what your poem is exploring, is it not? Enjoyed it, and would be happy to converse with you anytime, and that is not fiction. |

Meadowmuse, In the throes of my H2Sness last night, I totally messed up the title of the poem. Oh well, it looks almost symmetrical; too late to touch. Anyway, it was supposed to be "aspiration" and "perspiration" mixed together as one word, because sometimes you aspire for something and the only way to succeed at it is with a lot of sweat. Obviously, it should read "aspirpiration,'' but when I think about it, that looks realllly stupid. Anyway, there's no big trick to the h2s; just lots of practice doing them, I guess, coupled with a prolificness that won't be sated. I'm not complainin'. And you have my e-mail address still, right?
