Well it looks as though my newly found biological Dad may have cancer in his spine. All the tests aren't back yet, but it doesn't look good. As some of you know I only found him in December 99 and I'm upset and mad as hell at the cruel fates..... Another cruel blow by the fates, Another stab at my pathetic existance, It feels as though it's a personal attack on me, Despite my efforts of resistance. I only just found my Dad, My precious, sweet Robbie, I imagined I'd have a lifetime with him, But the cruel fates decided to rob me. I am so much like him, It's him I took after, Two peas from the same pod, He fills my life with laughter. There is still so much to learn, So much for him and I to share, For with him I finally found my identity, He is the reason I care. It's not fair, Why me, why again? Whenever I find happiness, Something, somehow always brings it to an end. Our time may now be limited, ANd I can tell you it will never be enough, I cannot forgive the fates this time, Their dealings to me are always too rough. Don't take my Daddy, Don't take him from me, For I've only just found him, If I lose him, I'll lose too much of me. May the world hug you today, With it's warmth and love. I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart, That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world, Wishing you well and wishing you love...... ~Isis~ (Goddess - Sovereign of the Spirit) |

Isis, Im so very sorry for you and your dad...I didnt know about how you just recently found him...we are always told everything happens for a reason...but so often the reasons are too hard to understand or accept... this poem is a touching tribute to your love for him...please know... you both are in my thoughts and prayers... take care, janet marie Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme, They are not measured by the commitment of time. Some emotions run too deep to be described by words, Forgiveness and understanding remain the most beautiful words ever heard. i know its hard to look at it this way, but at least you found him and you had the time you have had together thus far. i do not know my father either, so i can imagine what you are going through. ill keep you and your family in my prayers. i wish you so much luck and your father as well. and most of all i wish you happiness no matter when and how it comes. and if its any comfort, i find your existance afr from pathetic, for your words have touched me so deeply. sincerely, aimee Trust I seek and I find in you. Everyday for us something new. Open mind for a different view, and nothing else matters. --Metallica |

I can certainly understand your anger, Lisa. Sometimes it does indeed seem that fate goes after us personally. They say tht God never gives us more than we can handle. I believe that to be true. Chin up, my friend. |

You know.....I watched the whole mini-series "Centenial" many times....the most moving part was where Hermann Bochweiss was bemoaning the fact that his son-in-law Pasquinel had stayed on the plains with an Indian wife. McKeag, a longtime friend and partner of Pasquinel asked Dr Bochweiss... "What if had never come at all?" He had enriched so many lives just by his coming that in his absence they were all richer. Isis....what if you had never found him at all?? Please do not blame "fate". Be thankful for small miracles.....no matter how brief. Robert |

Oh wow...what a powerful poem. I can only say that is truly a bad deal...Try to think of it this way - I can see 2 positives in this, believe it or not. First of all, you did find him before it was too late. I have a friend who searched for 5 years for her dad, only to find he had passed away 6 months before she found him. That's something to think about, and be thankful for in your case. Secondly, one of my greatest fears is losing either of my parents. I think we all feel that way, no matter how long they've been in our lives. None of us know how long we'll have our loved ones around. Just cherish each day you have, and thank God you did find him before his time. That is the only peace I can offer you dear...I do feel for you, and he will be in my prayers. Remember, cherish each day and the memories you have inside. |
