Vapor I am no more than vapor now no longer finding form No shape remains where once I lay and kept your pillow warm No trace, no film, no petals pressed with sonnets in a book No memory of embracing arms no long and loving look No gentle voice, no breathless moan exists within your mind No fragrance pulls my image back No passion now to find You'll not recall the autumn nights, our lingering love expressed My hair alive in evening's glow spread silken 'cross your chest And will your thoughts return to me at daylight's last refrain? The answer hides within a heart that vapor cannot contain Meadowmuse |

I looked towards the evening sky beyond the pale moon's light, Saw a vapor cloud the skies and shine with beauty bright, On whispering winds I heard sweet song, an ode of pure delight, I wondered what this goddess be, this vapor of the night. |

No words can reflect the feeling within this this poem. A Song comes to mind And I start singing to unwind The sound echo’s through the empty alley As I’m walking along through the valley The windows filled with light and glitter A chilling wind that makes me shiver I think of you to keep me warm I wish we could walk along together arm in arm I put my hand back into the sleeve As I walk through the night in quiet reprieve (((you))) The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

Such a beautiful poem of haunted love. You make me see it all. Your rhyming is always exquisite and essential -- not a missed beat and not an image wasted. As always, thanks for sharing. Here's hoping someday I can take your work off a shelf lined with your books. Arrrgh, you're soooo good! Mike |
