He keeps her quietly on the side, It only takes a word or two. She thinks that soon she'll be his bride, When all he wants is her to use. She could have so much more, But then, that would be a risk. So she waits just inside her door, And thinks her life is made of this. The sun rises the next morn, Before she admits he won't be there. But with his absence hope is born, That he'll feel sorry and begin to care. She is the angel of the night, Giving grace where none is due. Awaiting love until daylight, Then crying softly for dreams untrue. |

*sniffle* Did I pick the perfect day to read this one! How sad, and the last stanza really got me. since it's your fault this poem was so sad, do you happen to have a hanky on hand? Oh my, a serious deep poem from LongJohn, I think I may need glasses. Joking aside, this is wonderful. [This message has been edited by Lost Dreamer (edited 02-18-2000).] |

It seems to me that we seem to by on the same wave length today with our poems. Very nicely done. Perhaps are main characters are dating each other.... Marina [This message has been edited by Marina (edited 02-18-2000).] |

Looks like everyone is writing sad poems lately. Kinda hard to feel alone when everyone else around you can relate in one way or another. Great poem LngJhnAg. |

And so did I and do agree very sad but nicely done The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |
