The trouble with golf Golf is a game that outrages my mind. The harder I try the more that I find, No pleasure to me, in fact it's a strain, Just one good day and the next is a pain. Each stroke I trust the ball to go true. But Each flight I follow, I know that I blew. Hook it, or slice it, or shank a fat shot, My blood pressure always goes up allot. My problems are more then one in my case, And one is to keep my temper in place. Just to be calm in the face of defeat. Is one that is very hard to repeat. For all of the time invested and stayed, And all of the time I've miserably played. I just cannot think of one good reason, I shouldn't sign up for one more season? |

I myself am devoted to dance and I don't even think if I had the chance I would pick up a stick with a club on the end less I turned into a lunatic. Love your poem, way to go. |

This is a must read for my husband, a golfer. I'm a treasure hunter and saler, myself (that's garage sale addict). Enjoyed your writing. Thanks. |

Sy, you know as well as I do they only spell it golf because all the other four-letter words were taken. But where else can we take a stick, beat the hell out of something, and not get arrested? You'll give it up the same day I do....and that date doesn't exist on any calendar I'm aware of |

Good is :I like your poem Bad is: I don't Golf Good was: I owned a Golf (VW Rabitt, Golf called in Germany lol) Bad was: The Golf only lasted eight month So I guess I'm not made for, or to Golf But your poem is excellent, nevertheless. The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

Martie, Thanks for the cute comment. *L* Sandgrain, I hope he enjoys the poem and by the way garage sale is my second best thing to do. Balladeer, Did you know if you turn the word golf around it becomes FLOG? Helmut, Always enjoy your comments, thank you Man, If I could swing like the guy in your picture I would be happy. *L* |
