Their
branches,
bare only days
ago, hang low with
crystallized ice; reflecting
sunlight like many tiny jewels.
Ordinary trees stand proud in majestic
beauty; crowned kings, by God, on this winter’s
morn.

 Have you ever noticed
That the words...
"Goodbye"
"I'm sorry"
"I love you"
Are so easy to pronounce
...Yet so hard to say
~Javan

Ruth, I've seen those tree's in the past, and the beauty is outstanding as is you capturing the beauty in this poem. I love it as you can tell.

Very beautiful hoot.  I have thought often of trying to make words take more shape in my writing, but this, this is amazing.
Thank You.

Im guessing you must live in the northeast from the look`s of the poem...the weather and all I mean.
This is another nice writing Hoot and I like the way you were able to write your word`s into the shape of a tree
Thank`s again for sharing Hoot.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
And the begining of a new one.

Dare I say my 15 month old nephew played barefoot in the yard Sunday afternoon? *G* We'll probably get more cold weather... but my yard already needs mowing! LOL

Lovely poem, Hoot!!!!

The majesty of newfallen snow is certainly unsurpassed - and you've captured it beautifully......

Of course, I'm happier reading about it than shoveling it......

I love this Ruth. We recently had an ice storm too and it almost inspired me to write.  Almost, but not quite.    You put it better than I could've.

Hoot~
Now you KNOW I like the shape of this !
Very nicely done.
It was only 80 degrees in Florida yesterday.
I know - I know !
Warmest thoughts sent to your tundra.

This was l;ovely, Hoot. A couple weeks ago we had an authors festival and our visiting author was Joan Bransfield Graham who writes children'a poetry. Her first book, SPLISH SPLASH, is about the different shapes of water and each poem is in that shape, ice cubes, popsicles, rivers, waterfalls, etc. Your poem reminded me of hers..great job!
