I am a pile of dirt with a soul stuck inside
Somewhere in the distance the sun begins the day
The clouds rush together the sun will have to hide
If the rain falls forever I’ll soon wash away

I didn’t think I could be more than a pile of dirt
Yet I was given a soul to feel joy and pain
And free will to cause the most unwanted hurt
Makes me linger longer in the freezing rain

I am washing away, the sins from the clay
The filth forms a river to where the sun may shine
I do believe somewhere maybe even today
Baptized in that river from filth a holy shrine

I don't think you are a pile of dirt....unless you WANT to be....I'll just add a little water and you can be MUD!

Walt, This is so good, I love it and you were born into one heck of a human being from that dirt. I bet a perfect rose could grow from your soil.

I'm sure we all feel like a pile of dirt some days!

Interesting concept on life, there kiddo.
Well, dirt is full of minerals, I once
ate some once, I sure hope that wasn't
the essence of someone - that was forming
to become a dirt man --)
Clever poem - made me laugh

Walt that's what we were made from. All of us, but formed so intricately. Bud you are a wonderful person, God makes no mistakes!
So don't wash it away, but let those buds bloom

You've made me grin with your "uplifting" poem for sure Walt!!!   Just remember that everything comes from the dirt m'friend, so you're better off than most of us!!!

Pile of Dirt?  I think not... Fertile loam...
awaiting promise of a seed, drops of rain to fill wants needs...special--that's what you are...

lol...better to be a pile of dirt than a pile of something else such as I am...lmao.
Very "uplifting" work..lol. I can only hope to strive for such success...lol.
