Rain

When the rain fell down
I knew right then.
You were lost to me,
My most precious friend.

You cared and sheltered,
When times were tough.
Your advice was good,
When things looked rough.

But as you lay there,
Peaceful and still.
You've made a hole,
I'll never fill.

You were always my tree,
When the wind blew strong.
You were always there,
When i did things wrong.

Now you're quiet,
You don't speak a sound.
And i am the one,
With my feet on the ground.

Your smile's disappeared,
I miss it so much.
I miss all your love,
And your gentle touch.

So I'll hold onto your hand,
If you keep your head high.
I know it hurts, love,
But for me, please try.

Hello Ella, liked your poem. Nice use of rhyme.

Wow... I think my heart jumped into my throat on this one... you know? That little feeling you get like a vacume has just built up in your throat right before you cry? Beautiful.. wonderful.. marevelous... excellent.. AWESOME! (And several other words I can't spell) =)

I'd kill for a friend such as the one you singing too here... or a friend like you. ;-)

A great way to start off the day, and now off to work I go.
