state of confusion

Timber!

Where is the logic in destroying
that which cannot be replaced?
How can the mighty corporations
rationalize THIS deal?

I’ve walked among the avenues,
my eyes have beheld giants,
the oldest one bears the scars
of the men who tried to conquer her.

Then there was the lady who lived
high in a redwood for two years,
and those who linked their bodies in protest
received a dose of legalized cruelty.
All those nuts in Cali.
All to save the trees.

When my son was five,
he wrote to the President,
told him he must save
Headlands forest.

I hope he never loses passion.

Long live the protest and the passion!
Well said.

Most of the big corporations only care about the bottom line, not about forests or people or morals or anything else. So it is up to us nuts to guard what we care about. Great poem, Corinne!

Why is it that all those money sucking greedy, companies still want to distroy every last one of these magnificant tree's.
They are on a course of self distruction and want to take us with them. In British Columbia, these companies constantly try this stuff, its a never ending battle to fight their greed.
Great poem Corinne. I think we all should write poems to support a fight for clear thinking in the environment.

Thanks, Danny, Hoot and Denise and RAM,
some things are worth fighting for.

And I do like hugging trees, RAM!

Parker - you are absolutely right.  It's happening all over the world. The destruction of rainforests possibly being the most disturbing of all.

Thanks again,

Corinne
