An Anniversary Poem I went for a walk last night I was feeling low An anniversary had come As they do come and go But as I walked along last night I felt an Angels touch I turned to see the face of one That I have missed so much I could no longer stop the tears and I began to cry, Why have you left me on my own? Why did you have you have to die? Without you I just can't go on, I don't know what to do, The reason for my life has gone, The love I had for you. She answered me in words of comfort This is what she said Have no time for bitterness Don't think of me as dead Don't look for me in photographs They only make you sad I'll be in the things of life The things that make you glad I'll be in the sound of children Going out to play, I'll be in the wind that blows upon a winters day, You'll find me in the sun that shines, The moon and stars above, The flowers and the birds that sing And all the thing you love. A beautiful tribute to the loved one you are missing. I know how these Anniverseries effect our resolve to go on. You are dealing with it in one of the best ways you could. Thank you for sharing. |

Simply BEAUTIFUL! I like the way you turned the emotions from depression and sadness to hope and anticipation. Very well done! INclan |

Thank you for your prompt replies I would like to point out that I have not lost anyone recently. The poem was written for someone who had. It was incomplete at the time and I have just managed to finish it. It is dedicated to anyone who has lost someone dear. pmc |

Patrick~ This is absolutely heart-rendering. As anyone who has lost a loved one can testify ... everyday is an anniversary of sorts. You phrased it so well ... Thank you for this tender, touching recall. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Patrick, I can only say that your friend is not alone. Many of us have lost the ones we love. I won't say the pain will ever go away, but in time you learn to accept the things you cannot change. Your friend has my deepest sympathies. Thank you for the dedication. I recently lost my mother. Jeffrey [This message has been edited by Jeffrey Carter (edited 04-11-2000).] |

I wish I had that poem to read when my grandmother died so long ago... Awesome poem. "The storm rises up when the shadows descend every beat of my heart every day without end I will stand like a rock I will bend till I break till theres no more to give if thats what it takes I will risk everything I will fight I will bleed I will lay down my life if thats what you need every second I live thats the promise I make" I have no idea who wrote this... tell me if you know. =) |
