Rain. It's like all risks in life. We're taught to fear it, while in truth it is a beautiful thing. As children we are told of the dangers of catching cold, or being struck by lightning, Yet we are never told of the beauty and relaxation it brings. What can be better than a cool rain on a hot summer day? To let the water flow and drench you from head to toe? To lie in the wet grass and absorb the calmness of the water? It has a powerful, soothing feeling, whose closest imitation is a long, hot shower. It is an awesome thing in it's whole: The heavens opening up to release a shower of comfort, the beauty of the lighting illuminating the sky. the familiar rumble of thunder - God's angels bowling. Rain is a good thing. It is not to be kept outside, while we are all cozy inside our houses. It is meant to commune with us, bring us pleasure, and comfort. It is a beautiful part of nature, not enough enjoyed. |

I'd have to agree. Of course, I like almost all of nature.... I could do without mosquitos and some other annoyances but rain, and storms and even really strong winds always seem to comfort me. I like it. "We always said it would be good to go away, someday, but if there's nothing there to make things change, if it's the same to you I'll just hang." --Matchbox20 (Hang) |

I agree. We are not taught things like that, we all run for cover from it. Thanks for the insight to this! I shall never look at it quite the same Welcome to Passions!!! <*\\\>< YOUR LIFE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. IT'S A REFLECTION OF YOU! |

This is a god poem to enter Passions with. Welcome! I couldn't agree more about it being a beautiful part of nature. I love the rain and how it relaxes me. You described everything wonderfully. ~AF~ "Poetry is the language in which man explores his own amazement." Christopher Fry |

You know, ever since I was a child I loved to play in the rain. It's just seemed to have a calling over me. Wonder entrance you have made, here. Welcome to Passions, I hope to see more from you soon. michael |

Oh The beauty of a thunderstorm. Violent yet calming. Lightening flickering across the sky and the wonderous smell of rain. Truly a great work! Welcome to Passions, hope you enjoy your stay. The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, not the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship." --Ralph Waldo Emerson |

Hi Torrie, This is so wonderful, nature has a way of letting us know she's there and that we can take part in her beauty any time. Welcome to passions Cerenity |
