I met my girl when she was nearly two
My future daughter if I only knew
What it takes to become World’s Greatest Dad
I’d stored all the patience I ever had

I’ve taught my girl many new words
She’s taught me so many less absurd
I’ve taught her: “Stop!” “No!” “Listen!” and “Be Good!”
Words like “Ah-Doo” “Waa-Waa” I understood

Now she’s a little lady almost four
She grows so fast I can’t stand anymore
From diapers to pull ups to chonies*
Almost too old to eat free at Shoney’s**

She’s outspoken, a nose picker, so sweet!
She’ll tell you where are her eyes, chin, and feet
It’s scary; no strangers are around her
That person she doesn’t like hasn’t found her

At four, just two years till kindergarten
At four, fourteen years till we are partin’
At four, just twelve years till a used car
At four, none of these things are very far

(Sniff)

* chonies if i spelled that right are a tex-mex slang for panties

** Shoney's is a family place to eat yuh i hope yuh have one near you!!

PS

My little girl knows her name starts with M
To the other letters she’ll get to them
So maybe we should name our babies Toe
So we proud parents all will know
When our little babies wiggle their feet
That they’re the smartest babies we’ll ever meet

Walt what treasured memories! All too soon they grow out of those "sweet" things. They grow so darn fast!
This is just precious, save this somewhere and give it to her when she's a bit older
