Shattered Promises < !signature-->By: Amy M. Kennedy You said that you loved me But we both know that was a lie Why won’t you just let me be? It was apparent you don’t love me In the way that you said good-bye You told me forever, but lies are all you speak Breaking my heart, but you don’t really care You want to hurt me, make me feel weak Wish I had never fallen for you This pain becoming too much to bear I shared with you the feelings from my heart You told me that you felt the same If that’s the case…then why are we apart? Your kind of love I don’t want What is this sick twisted game? But every-time I look at you, deeper I fall You just laugh at me though You broke down my defenses, destroyed my wall In you I trusted with all that I am Thought our love was suppose to flourish and grow Shattered promises are all that remain Broken dreams lay scattered You try to push this onto me, make me take the blame So sick of your behavior, I have had enough Made a mockery of my love... left me feeling tattered Wish I didn’t love you, however I still do Somehow I will make it through this living hell Within time I will no longer love you This is what you wanted; it’s obvious to me Don’t worry…I will get over this hold you have on me…this spell. ~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~ [This message has been edited by Aimster (edited 04-09-2000).] |

Aimster, Oh how I feel your pain....I am there now also. This was a great poem full of very strong emotions. I hope that things get better for you soon. Fantastic writing..sometimes I feel like I am under a spell..I am wondering why do I still love someone that doesn't want to return my love? As you said love should flourish and grow...not deteriorate into pain and sorrow...that is not love...the pain is the end result when only one loves and the others heart is broken because they realize that they fell in love all by themselves..
