Office jobs rule

I sit staring at the screen
Fingers tapping at keys
Piles of paper 2 inches high
Telephones ringing
Faxes beeping
Radiators heat the room
But no air conditioning
Windows kept shut to prevent drafts
I sit staring at my screen
My forehead covered in sweat
My fan oscillating making no difference whatsoever
Talking to people on the phone who I will never meet
Yet I talk to them like they are good friends
Putting on a face
To make them think I am happy
Looking at my payslip every month
Hoping there will be an extra nought
But there never is
The same thing everyday
Nothing Changes
I sit staring at my screen

 "shun the frumious Bandersnatch!"

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all get jobs that we absolutely love - like writing poetry?!!!

God do I feel your pain. =)

but if there's nothing there to make things change,
if it's the same to you I'll just hang."
