To what purpose? Quixotic flashes lightning through, Rousing up my passions new, Deeply seated in my chest. Embroiling a phantoms zest. Piercing through from black to light, Pox and vexed me through the night. Chaotic upheaval there, Dragging dragons from their lair. And this nova burst my head, Filling me with somber dread. Testing some small sanity, Before my inner eye to see. It was she, in cascade view, Casting glances scorching new. Fronting a fantasia smile And luring me with her wile. A specter of my own relief? I backed away in disbelief. I could not understand the fate, Or the summoning of this state. She was my one and only shoal, My goal the other half my soul. She need no vision to declare My soul is bound with her in share. So why this vision in the night? What aim serves this other light? What manifest on whose behest? Or be this, but a simple test? |
