For Lisa
By Amy M. Kennedy

You turn to me and say
"Sis do I look alright"?
I have to for a moment, look away
Tears stream down my face, my voice goes all tight

You wipe a tear away and say please don't cry
I just stand there and look you, letting out a sigh
You look so beautiful...how can my eyes stay dry?
Prom... I hope for you sweetheart this is the perfect night

Hard to believe 18 years ago
Our sisterhood first got its start
Where does all the time go?
Since day one you captured my heart

Feel more like your mom at this moment
Dear sister of mine, beautiful friend...wonderful poet
From the moment I saw you, my soul you did touch
Just wanted you to know...I love you so much

So proud of you, I know that Mom is too
You look at me, and I look at your sweet face
Remember Mom is watching and oh how she loves you
Lisa...you have a beautiful heart and soul full of such grace

I have had the honor of being your big sis
Times have been tough, this we both know
And at this exact moment, I make a wish
A night full of magic and sweet eternal bliss

You deserve it all and so much more
You turn to me and wave
Good things for you, I know are in store
I flash a picture, this moment I wish I could save

~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~

What a beautiful tribute to your sister, Amy. I am sure it did not go unappreciated.

What a great thing it is to see those great family ties and sisterly bonds, I too have a sis and I am going to share with her this special poem, and show her a bond between sisters is heavenly

Amy~
I'd say that Lisa is very lucky to have such a loving, caring 'big sister'.
You're an exceptional young woman, Amy.
