(Just a goofy little poem here, playing with some rhyme schemes) Fate Intercedes In dark of night, such grand delight Despite the stormy weather Safe inside, they’d shared a ride In the cab together His name was Bill, her name was Jill And while the cool rain fell In warm back seat of taxi neat They sat and talked a spell She was a writer, he a firefighter They both were twenty eight She liked Poe, He the Alamo And both were running late He liked the sea and so did she They both liked Robert Frost She met his eyes, as blue as skies And laughed, I think we’re lost “Tenth and Abbey,” she told the cabby “Hey I’m going there too!” “To a dinner party with Beth and Marty?” He laughed, “This can’t be true!” “You’re my blind date. We both are late And we’ve already met” “While they are waiting, anticipating Their plans we’ve now upset” They laughed of fate and being late They laughed at best of plans Then at the party of Beth and Marty They entered holding hands < !signature--> To love means never to be afraid of the windstorms of life: should you shield the canyons from the windstorms you would never see the true beauty of their carvings. ~Elizabeth Kubler-Ross [This message has been edited by hoot_owl_rn (edited 04-07-2000).] |

hoot-girl this is NOT goofy... its absolutely CHARMING!!! the rhyme and flow are PERFECT...and the emotions and imagery are a delight to read. very cool poem hoot!!!you seem to be enjoying your self poeticly these days...and we are enjoying too take care,jm The stars shine so bright, now's the time I close my eyes - soft wind touch my face, Cool sand upon the place where I once kissed you And held you close. Now I will reach for the stars... Because Oh my love, that's where you are... Though the storms of black night rage on I still see your face I still feel your lips on mine And though my heart feels all alone without you I still hear you sing to me I still hear your voice on the sea... vertical horizon |

Lovely, Ruth! This is very good. You won't believe this, but I just had a blind date myself, and everything turned out lovely, too. We have been talking on the phone ever since, and things are going really well. Thank you for brightening up my day with this one! ~you reached inside, you touched my heart, and I am all the better for it~ Terry A. Woodson, Jr. |

Hay... I was just thinking... is this "interceding" stuff hard to come by, or can I pick one up on the way home from 7/11..? But really, I think I'll just tip-toe out of here before I get in any deeper. |
