The moon looks down on me His sweet face shining brightly With a light that illuminates the darkness That has surrounded my soul It is not his fault that he dwells In the night for he is a creature of habit And knows no other time to shine Besides that is when his friends the stars play They sparkle and shoot all around Throughout thw whole night long If you look closely you can see When they get together an image is formed As the moon's light shines down on me I feel myself being drawn to him The beams of light cast a warm shadow That covers my body with a soft glow The moon is a gentle creature Who watches over me while I sleep Each night his smiling face Looks down on me as I rest ------------------------------------------------------ Friends are friend forever if the Lord's the Lord of them and a friend will not say never cause the welcome will not end. --Michael W. lovely moonlit imagery in this LW... very serene to read...very nice a perfect tribute to our friend MR.MOON take care, jm The stars shine so bright, now's the time I close my eyes - soft wind touch my face, Cool sand upon the place where I once kissed you And held you close. Now I will reach for the stars... Because Oh my love, that's where you are... Though the storms of black night rage on I still see your face I still feel your lips on mine And though my heart feels all alone without you I still hear you sing to me I still hear your voice on the sea... vertical horizon |

LoneWolf~ I love a good poem about the moon. The different ways we see it is illuminating in itself. You walked this one across the sky with wonderful images. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Janet...thank you. Just looked out the window the other night and it was like he was speaking to me. Had to get it on paper. Marge....me too and you are very right. Everyone sees it in a different light. Thank you very much!! Friends are friend forever if the Lord's the Lord of them and a friend will not say never cause the welcome will not end. --Michael W. Ah, the moon, without it what would lovers do? Nice poem Lone Wolf! A life isn't significant except for its impact on other lives. |
